The LTU exchange semester focuses on the Exploration value, from early target generation using geological, geochemical and geophysical methods the first half, to resource estimation and feasibility studies during the second half. Global factors controlling metal prices and long-terms trends in exploration are covered, as well as different strategies which are applicable at different stages of exploration and mining projects. The lectures are combined with practicals using state-of-the-art software such Leapfrog Edge and ioGAS, and visits to active mines in northern Sweden.
